Organic Fort Bragg Onion Seeds 25 Count Allium cepa Description: Intermediate Day Variety. Large yellow globe onion that performs well here on the Pacific Coast. About 4-6 across and weigh 1/2-1 lbs. Robust, almost round, pancake shaped with some of the onions weighing over 1 lb easy. It is a good keeper storing for about 3 months. I'm being modest here. I harvested in November, it is March and I still have onions in the garage that are good as the day they were pulled. It is important to dry your onions in the garden first for proper storage. Pull them up on a sunny day and let them dry in the sun for two days to cure. Then store them. Harvesting: Matures in about 120 days. Uses: Whether harvested early for scallions (green onions), for summer meals, or winter storage, onions need rich, well-drained soil and good weed control. Tightly spaced green onions fit well in ornamental plantings. Location: Choose a weed-free, well-drained location. Raised beds are ideal. Onions are good for intercropping with other garden plants, especially early-maturing spring greens. Do not plant where other onion family crops have been grown in the past 3 years. Sowing: Direct-seed in spring when the soil reaches 50 F. Plant seed
